The family and friends of Mitchell Chuoke Jr. gathered with COM administration to unveil its new plumbing certificate training program during a special ceremony for the Mitchell Chuoke Jr. Plumbing Program on Wednesday, November 29.

Consulado General de México en Houston

COM Foundation attended a signing ceremony, where María Elena Orantes from the Consulado General de México en Houston presented a gift of $9,000 towards IME Becas – Mexican Consulate Scholarship funds. 

Mainland Medical Center

Mainland Medical Center Auxiliary (MMCA) has made numerous generous donations to College of the Mainland (COM) for more than 25 years. MMCA reached a new milestone when they presented a check for $30,000 to COM during the College’s April Board of Trustees meeting.

Giving Tuesday Update

On Tuesday November 29th, COM Foundation participated in Giving Tuesday-a Global Day of Giving campaign. Originating in 2012, the Tuesday after every Thanksgiving individuals are encouraged to take part in philanthropy that helps support organizations and individuals in need. Our goal was to raise funds for students in need.

College of the Mainland’s proximity to the Gulf Coast’s petroleum refining and petrochemical manufacturing companies not only creates demand for its real-world trained technicians, but it also attracts industry leaders who contribute expertise on college advisory boards.

Del Papa Distributing Company

College of the Mainland (COM) is pleased to announce a $125,000 donation for Hitchcock, La Marque and Santa Fe students to participate in the Opening Doors Promise Scholarship program. Generously funded by the Del Papa Distributing Company, the $125,000 matching grant will be donated over two years and sponsor students in those three cities.

Mainland Medical Center Auxiliary

On Tuesday, April 27th, 2022, Dr. Lisa Watson met with representatives from HCA Mainland Auxiliary who presented a check of $15,000 to help fund scholarships for students among College of the Mainland’s Nursing and Allied Health programs.

Austin Commercial’s Houston office has pledged to give back to their community specifically to College of the Mainland’s Promise Program.
