As one of the most diversified builders in the U.S., Austin Commercial is nationally recognized for their commitment in Safety, Diversity & Inclusion, and Community Involvement. Austin Commercial’s Houston office has pledged to give back to their community specifically to College of the Mainland’s Promise Program. Not only have they pledged to make education possible for first time college students, they have asked their subcontractors to also join in on their efforts. The current subcontractors that have joined in and have contributed to COM’s Promise Program are Mitchell Chuoke, Way Engineering, MGC, Broome, Marek, NCS, Steel Fab, and WW Bartlett.

COM Foundation has currently received $36,000 from Austin Commercial and their subcontractors and also received an additional $35,500 from them in 2020.

Student Donor Luncheon 2024

On April 11th, COM Foundation hosted their annual Student Donor Luncheon. This event is a great opportunity for students and donors to meet, enjoy lunch, and hear from guest speakers. This year’s speakers included Chris DeVries (COM Foundation Board of Directors, Vice President) and Adrian Castaneda (Collegiate High School student and COM Foundation multi-scholarship recipient). Adrian has received 3 different scholarships throughout his time at COM. He will graduate on May 11, 2024, with an Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration-Management.

Mitchell Chuoke Jr. Plumbing Program

The family and friends of Mitchell Chuoke Jr. gathered with COM administration to unveil its new plumbing certificate training program during a special ceremony for the Mitchell Chuoke Jr. Plumbing Program on Wednesday, November 29.
