COM Foundation provides donors with opportunities to significantly impact students of all ages.
Overcoming financial struggles brought on by a lack of higher education is at the heart of our mission.
“. . . it is not about where you come from, or what you have been through, but it is about where you can go in life when you are given the opportunity to prosper.”

Investing in Education:
One Day Can Change a Lifetime
The College of the Mainland (COM) Foundation held its fourth annual Educate a Woman “Laughs for Lunch” scholarship luncheon on March 22. The event is held every year to spotlight the unique challenges and achievements of female COM students, including juggling family and financial responsibilities, while meeting personal, educational, and professional goals. The college conference center was packed with donors, guests, and students, all there to celebrate and support our current and future female students. Over thirty corporations, foundations, and individuals provided event sponsorships, and many more donated items for a silent auction and made gifts.
COM Theatre students presented a dramatic performance of famous female voices as a nod to Women’s History Month. Comedian, writer, and actress, Leighann Lord, entertained with her signature brand of conversational wit and observations of humor in everyday living.
The highlight of the event was student speaker, Brittany Stage, who shared her personal story of overcoming tremendous struggles to improve her life and her children’s lives through her education. With scholarships from COM Foundation, Brittany continues to accomplish her educational goals. She attained her GED in 2018 and an associate degree in business administration in 2021. She is now earning her second associate degree in occupational safety and health, in order to continue in her chosen career in the construction industry.
As a donor, you help students like Brittany every year through your support of COM Foundation. This year’s event, raised over $64,000, which will provide more than 128 future student scholarships. We thank all of our donors for their unwavering dedication to the students of COM.
If you missed the event, we hope you’ll join us next year. In the meantime, it’s never too late to support more students like Brittany. Click the button below to contribute to this cause.

Thank you, Linde!
Leading global industrial gases and engineering company, Linde, has been a committed partner of COM Foundation since 2008. Their generosity to our students throughout the years is recognized with a star on our Texas Stars wall of honor at the Mustang giving level ($50,000-$99-999). Linde’s giving priorities for COM Foundation have been process technology scholarships, support of women in industry, and student emergency aid. In addition, Linde personnel participate in campus activities and foundation events throughout the school year, such as the recent “Women in Male-Dominated Careers” panel discussion, held on campus during Women’s History Month. Anita Jones, HyCO Plant Manager, says,
“We at Linde believe strongly that part of our commitment to making the world more productive is making our communities more successful, more equitable and more resilient. We support, maintain and strengthen projects focused in the areas of the environment, diversity and education, community support and health. The Educate a Woman initiative at COM falls right in line with this commitment.”
Linde once again demonstrated their belief in the importance of giving back through a Magna Cum Laude sponsorship at our “Laughs for Lunch” event. Because Linde invests in our community and our students, the world is a better place!
Welcome to our new partners!

Because of LAN’s support, the future of COM’s students is bright!
